Dear Families, 


Thank you for the wonderful participation in this year's HPA Boosterthon = Hajjar Fun Run.  We exceeded our goal of $25,000 and as promised the top ten students will duct tape me to the wall on Friday morning. If your child was one of the top prize winners you will be notified this week. 
 I will include photographs of this adventure in next week's update. Also, the Boosterthon staff will be at the Hajjar this week handing out any owed prizes to students.   . Thank you again for supporting this fundraiser and our school. 

School Council 
The School Council is an advisory group comprised of parents and staff that meets once a month.  The School Council determines the school's goals and writes the School Improvement Plan.  The School Council will meet the third Thursday of each month from 6:00 to 7:00. Our first meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 19th.  If you are interested in serving on this year' s Council, please  contact Beth Devine

Half Day for Students 
We have four half days scheduled for the school year:
  • October 6, 2017
  • November 22, 2017
  • December 22, 2017 
  • The last day of school
On 1/2 days breakfast will be served, but we will not have lunch.  Dismissal time on half days is 11:40 a.m.  This Friday is a 1/2 day and students will be dismissed at 11:40

to the Billerica Community Book Bank
(part of the monthly Billerica Food Market)
We are looking for books in good condition) ::

Students may bring in their donations and put them in the book bins from Oct. 2 to Oct. 18.

Grandparents Group
A group of Hajjar grandparents that are raising their grand children meet monthly,normally the first Thursday of the month from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.. This year's first meeting will be on Thursday, October 5th at 6:00 p.m. . They are looking for additional members, it is a great support group., If you are a new member to this group, please contact Mrs. Goetz (Social Worker) or Mrs. Ahern (School Psychologist) at 978-528-8550.

News from the HPA

Family Fun Night will be held on Friday, October 20 from 6:00-7:30. For those of you new to the school, Family Fun Night is a HPA Halloween themed event where kids can enjoy face painting, arts and crafts, music, and games!  We also have a table with great raffle prizes!  Pizza and snacks can be purchased.  This event requires a lot of volunteers to help it run smoothly!  If you would like to volunteer, please visit the following site:
